Corso Como - Small (perfume cologne sample)

the scoop

10 Corso Como is exotic sensuality, the meeting of the arcane and the new. It's a clean, warm sandalwood with a touch of churchy frankincense and an ingredient so expensive, so precious, so rare that we dare not speak its name but once. This is not your local headshop's version of sandalwood, so forget about multi-colored dancing bears and hookahs; 10 Corso Como's mystery is rooted in one of the most ancient of all incenses, yet it remains light on the skin, exuding a scent both delicate and intensely spiritual. Without a single ad campaign, 10 Corso Como has attracted so many crazed worshippers in Europe that some buy the bottles by the dozen. Welcome to paradise.
Corso Como - Small notes
sandalwood, frankincense, musk, rose, geranium, vetiver and rare Malay oud wood oil

Composing Perfumes Part 2 - perfume cologne samples

perfume cologne samples

Technique

Perfume oils usually contain tens to hundreds of ingredients. These ingredients can be roughly grouped into four groups: primary scents, modifiers, blenders and fixatives (refer notes below). (perfume cologne samples)

Instead of building a perfume from "ground up", many modern perfumes and colognes are made using fragrance bases, which are essential oils and aromatic chemicals. The effort used in developing bases by fragrance companies or individual perfumers may equal that of a marketed perfume, since they are useful in that they are reusable. (perfume cologne samples)

The perfume's fragrance oils are then blended with ethyl alcohol and water, aged in tanks for a minimum of 14 days and filtered through processing equipment to remove any sediment and particles before the solution can be filled into the perfume bottles.
Notes: (perfume cologne samples)

• Primary scents: Can consist of one or a few main ingredients for a certain concept, such a "rose". Alternatively, multiple ingredients can be used together to create an "abstract" primary scent that does not bear a resemblance to a natural ingredient. For instance, jasmine and rose scents are commonly blends for abstract floral fragrances. Cola flavourant is a good example of an abstract primary scent. (perfume cologne samples)

• Modifiers: These ingredients alter the primary scent to give the perfume a certain desired character: for instance, fruit esters may be included in a floral primary to create a fruity floral; calone and citrus scents can be added to create a "fresher" floral. The cherry scent in cherry cola can be considered a modifier. (perfume cologne samples)

• Blenders: A large group of ingredients that smooth out the transitions of a perfume between different "layers" or bases. Common blending ingredients include linalool and hydroxycitronellol. (perfume cologne samples)

• Fixatives: Used to support the primary scent by bolstering it. Many resins and wood scents , and amber bases are used for fixative purposes.

Composing Perfumes - perfume cologne samples

perfume cologne samples

The purpose of perfume compositions is an important part of many industries ranging from the luxury goods, food services, to manufacturers of various household chemicals items. (perfume cologne samples) The purpose of using perfume or fragrance is to affect customers through the sense of smell which hopefully will entice customers into purchasing the perfume or perfumed product.

(perfume cologne samples)

The Perfumer

The task of composing perfumes that will sell is to enhance an expert on perfume composition or known in the fragrance industry as the perfumer. (perfume cologne samples) (perfume cologne samples)They are also sometimes referred to as "The Nose" due to their fine sense of smell and ski ll in smell composition. (perfume cologne samples) The perfumer is effectively an artist who is trained in depth on the concepts of fragrance aesthetics and who is capable of conveying abstract concepts and moods with their fragrance compositions. (perfume cologne samples)

A perfumer must have knowledge of a large variety of fragrance ingredients and smell. They must be able to distinguish each of the fragrance ingredients whether alone or in combination with other fragrances. As well, they must know how each ingredient reveals itself through time when mixed with other ingredients. (perfume cologne samples)

The composition of a perfume begins when the perfumer’s employer’s are given a brief which will contain the specifications for the desired perfume that the organisation is trying to achieve. The employees are given several tasks to complete. (perfume cologne samples) They are expected to describe what the perfume smells like, their feelings after smelling the perfume, when the perfume should be worn, also the price of the perfume oil concentrate. This will determine what aromatics and fragrance ingredients can/will be used in the perfume composition. (perfume cologne samples)

This process is an in depth and tedious task but it is essential. (perfume cologne samples) The perfumer will then start a process of blending various perfume mixtures and try to achieve the outcome the brief. (perfume cologne samples) This process can take several months or years. Once all the information is gathered the perfume composition may be used as a fragrance enhancement in shampoos, make-up, detergents, etc or it may be marketed and sold directly to the public as a fine fragrance. Contributions from Islamic Cultures helped in the development of perfecting fragrances from steam distillation and the introduction of raw ingredients. (perfume cologne samples) Both ingredients significantly influenced the western perfumery developments in particularly chemistry. (perfume cologne samples) The chemistry knowledge is a very important procedure into the making of perfume due to careful mixing of chemicals. (perfume cologne samples)

Western (perfume cologne samples)

France became European centre of perfume and cosmetic manufacturing. (perfume cologne samples) Perfume was primarily used by the elite, wealthy and royalty to disguise body odors. (perfume cologne samples) France started to grow aromatic plants which would provide the raw materials for perfumes.(perfume cologne samples)

England (perfume cologne samples)

Perfume was at the highest peak in England during the time of Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth 1. Queen Elizabeth could not tolerate any bad smells and it was requested that all places she resided at , visited where scented at all times. (perfume cologne samples) In the 19th century perfume underwent a profound change. (perfume cologne samples) Modern chemistry and development laid new foundations of perfumery as we know it today. History of perfume in Cyprus, Islamic Cultures, Western and England (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

The word Perfume is described as scented mixtures. (perfume cologne samples) The history of perfume began ancient times ago. (perfume cologne samples) Perfumery or the art of making perfume began in Egypt but was further developed by the Romans and the Arabs. (perfume cologne samples) In this article will cover a small portion of the Cyprus, Islamic, Western and England history. (perfume cologne samples)

Cyprus (perfume cologne samples)

The oldest perfume was discovered on the island of Cyprus. Excavations unearthed an enormous site that existed 4,000 years ago. (perfume cologne samples) These perfumes were scented with extracts of lavender, bay, rosemary, pine and/or coriander and they were kept in tiny translucent alabaster bottles. (perfume cologne samples) Archaeologists that discovered these scents believe that what they discovered was a perfume making factory to be able to produce perfume on an industrial scale. (perfume cologne samples)
They discovered at least 60 distilling stills, mixing bowls, funnels and perfume bottles that were in perfect condition. (perfume cologne samples) They were preserved due to an earthquake around 1850BC.
These findings are now on display at the Capitoline Museum in Rome and in addition four of the perfumes have been recreated. (perfume cologne samples)

Have You Ever Wanted to Know What Perfume Really Is? Part 2 (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

Home made perfume can be fixed with glycerin or castor oil. (perfume cologne samples) Commercially perfume was often fixed with for a longer shelf life with civet oil, or musk. Today chemical replacements have been found. (perfume cologne samples)

The most internationally recognized of all perfumes has got to be Channel No. 5. (perfume cologne samples) Have you ever wondered why the number is 5? It's because during the testing period, a bottle was labelled "5". (perfume cologne samples) The fragrance consists of top notes: Aldehydes, Grasse jasmine Heart Notes: Rose, ylang-ylang, iris Base Notes: Amber, patchouli. (perfume cologne samples)

Modern perfume making has been taken over by Classic Designer houses such as Christian Dior which offers several perfumes including : J'adore, Diorella, Diorissimo, Dolce Vita fragrance and Miss Dior. (perfume cologne samples) While celebrities have always endorsed perfumes, they're now lending their name to perfumes like "Lovely," by Sara Jessica Parker. (perfume cologne samples)

To keep your perfume smelling beautiful for years to come make sure you keep the bottle away from heat and light as this will help prevent it from turning sour. (perfume cologne samples) The best bottles to keep perfume in are small ones and you should always apply it with a spray or stopper. (perfume cologne samples) This will prevent oil from your fingers contaminating the perfume.

The cost of perfume ranges from the least expensive colognes around $25 a bottle to $215,000 a bottle for Imperial Majesty, a Clive Christian signature scent. (perfume cologne samples) The fragrance is $2,150 per ounce. To warrant a price tag of $215,000, a Baccarat crystal bottle was filled with 16.9 ounces of perfume and a five carat diamond and gold collar. (perfume cologne samples)

Have You Ever Wanted to Know What Perfume Really Is? (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

Perfume is simply alcohol with a fixative combined with essential oils or chemically produced scents. (perfume cologne samples) Whilst cologne is basically perfume watered down. (perfume cologne samples) Perfume typically contains 30% essential oils and colognes only 1-2% (perfume cologne samples)

Perfumes (perfume cologne samples) you find available to buy may consist of just one scent whilst others contain a blend of a high note (the first scent that reaches you), middle notes (sometimes called heart notes, which is the personality of the perfume) and finally the base note which lingers on. (perfume cologne samples)

Always bear in mind that perfumes react differently with each person's body scent. (perfume cologne samples) This is why you should always try before you buy otherwise you could be disappointed. (perfume cologne samples) What perfume or cologne smells nice on your friend may not smell as pleasant on you. (perfume cologne samples) A good rule of thumb is to never test more than three perfumes at a time.

Fragrance falls into six basic groups:

Spice: cinnamon, ginger, cloves
Wood: pine, sandalwood, cedar
Fruit: lemon, orange, peach
Florals: jasmine, lilac, gardenia, rose
Herbal: lavender, bay, sage
Exotic: musk, ylang-ylang, vanilla

The perfume can have top, heart, and base notes all from one category or mix the notes from different categories. (perfume cologne samples)

Perfume Bottles And Fragrances Part 2 (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

Before you start making perfume you need to understand the composition of the perfume oil. (perfume cologne samples) They have been classified into four categories according to the role played by them. (perfume cologne samples) These scents are found in the different notes like the top, base or the middle according to the supporting ingredients. (perfume cologne samples)

They are the following: fixatives, modifiers, blenders and primary scents. (perfume cologne samples) The fragrance oil has to be mixed with ethyl alcohol and water in special containers for a minimum of two weeks and all sediments are to be filtered off carefully. (perfume cologne samples) Nowadays the usual style is to use the base for it because of the obvious reasons instead of extracting perfumes from the `ground ups`. (perfume cologne samples)

There are quite a few types of oils mixed in a perfume. (perfume cologne samples) Once the final product is ready it is very difficult to know about its separate compositions. (perfume cologne samples) It is very difficult to break up the perfume and find its ingredients. However the nature of the perfume can be understood by the experts by using reverse technology. (perfume cologne samples) But this is also useful only if the perfume is not too much complicated in formation. A lot depends on the equipment that is put into use. (perfume cologne samples) Competitors and discerning consumers use it to reveal the formula used in the making of the perfume. (perfume cologne samples)

Continuous research is always being carried on in the perfume industry and experts keep experimenting and devising new ways of making perfume. (perfume cologne samples) Efforts are made to make each bottle unique, each perfume unique and the secrecy that is maintained by all concerned is amazing. (perfume cologne samples) Perfume bottle that you have is unique and a lot of hard work has gone into it. Don`t waste it , but use it with love and care in honor of the care that has gone into it! Perfume Bottles And Fragrances (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

Efforts are made to make each perfume bottle as unique as the perfume itself. Learn more.
The very word perfume creates a whiff of fragrance in the surroundings. (perfume cologne samples) It fills and mesmerizes the senses with a wonderful sensation and feeling. (perfume cologne samples)Perfumes have always attracted mankind and how a bottle of perfume is created is a mystery even in this era and age! The art of perfume making is a secret and the selected perfumes are created by specialists who never divulge the ingredients of it. This makes each bottle of perfume unique. (perfume cologne samples)

The perfume making art was introduced in Egypt and Mesopotamia somewhere in the 2nd millennium BC (perfume cologne samples). Originally perfume was made from spices like almonds, coriander and bergamot along with various other herbs. Flowers were not used in those days. (perfume cologne samples)

A Persian doctor and chemist discovered that perfume could be made from flowers too. He started making perfume with roses and rose water was a big favorite immediately (perfume cologne samples). Once introduced, rose water was being used extensively and is still used.
With the advancement in the perfume making industry and mass production and consumption, there has been a sea change in the entire procedure of perfume making (perfume cologne samples). It has now become a mechanical job no doubt but still needs expertise.

Commercial manufacturers keep their secrets of making perfume close to their hearts and don`t like to divulge it (perfume cologne samples) . However it is open secret that perfume is derived from plants, animals and other natural ways. Among the plants resins, seeds, leaves, fruits, and flowers are used (perfume cologne samples). In the animals` category civet, musk and honey comb may be used. In the modern era genetically induced plants are also being used to make perfumes by the perfume manufacturers. (perfume cologne samples)

The manufacturers now days use many synthetic sources like chemicals prepared in labs to make perfume and these perfumes are quite a hit among the users. (perfume cologne samples) Although the basic method of producing perfume is the same for all perfumes various manufacturers adopt slightly different style of manufacturing it according their individual style and choice. Pheromone Perfume - How To Put Your Man Under Hypnotic Charm Part 2 (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

Androstenol Is Queen (perfume cologne samples)

The pheromone used in perfume products for women is androstenol. (perfume cologne samples) It's the female equivalent of the version androstenone. It's said when men sense androstenol in the air, it's every guy for himself. (perfume cologne samples) It's what can turn a mild mannered guy into either a welcome serenader or a pain in the...!(perfume cologne samples)

The idea of attracting men is something most women will not divulge, even to their friends. (perfume cologne samples)The idea that they are using an enhancement to attract their man could bring some ridicule. However, times are certainly changing and there may come a time where the topic of conversation may not just be that guy that just moved into the neighborhood but "which pheromone product should I use to Attract him?"(perfume cologne samples)

The Power Of Androstenol

Androstenol is said to have the power to turn a man into a woman's slave; they will become more receptive to your needs. (perfume cologne samples)Now that's every woman's dream. Imagine, that pile of uncut firewood in the backyard or the unmowed grass which has been put on hold during football season.(perfume cologne samples)

Imagine ladies, just a dab of pheromone perfume and you can put your man under your spell. (perfume cologne samples) You'll be the envy of every female in your own imaginary Wisteria Lane! (perfume cologne samples)

Pheromone Perfume - How To Put Your Man Under Hypnotic Charm (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

Is there a difference between pheromone perfume and cologne? What should you consider when shopping for human pheromone products? (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) There really isn't any difference at all. Cologne is generally targeted towards men while perfume is basically a woman's product. It's simply marketing as women would identify much more with pheromone perfume.(perfume cologne samples)

Spray and concentrate products then complete the manor in which pheromones are made available to the public. (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) For women though, it seems manufacturers are starting to realize they may have been leaving money on the table when they first began their quest to turn the human population into attraction magnets.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) Women are being catered to more and more in a market where men were once the main focus. That's understandable given guys are considered the chasers or pursuers in their quest to find female companionship. (perfume cologne samples) But does that mean women don't like to pursue? That's assuming women just need to put themselves out there and a man will come calling.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) That's not really true. The argument regarding pheromone perfume for women is do they really need to enhance their profile and attractiveness to lure a man? (perfume cologne samples) In other words, do they really need any extra help? The short answer is yes and pheromone manufacturers have only begun to realize this.(perfume cologne samples)

Perfume For That Special Someone As A Gift Part 2 (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

A person who tends to dress-up more will typically wear bolder fragrances. Someone who wears more casual clothing might wear a softer, more subtle fragrance. (perfume cologne samples) This will also change if dressing to the nines for an evening on the town. Different occasions call for different scents.(perfume cologne samples)

If you still cannot decide on a particular scent for someone, then you can go the sneaky route and ask someone in their household what they typically wear and then find something either similar or buy the exact brand of perfume and cologne they usually purchase. (perfume cologne samples) It may not be the most original idea but it could save you money if you were to pick a totally off fragrance that they would not want to wear. (perfume cologne samples)

Oh, and one further note. Some people are allergic to more concentrated scents, such as those found in eau de parfum and essential oils (perfume cologne samples), so keep this in mind if you know the person has sensitive skin. You may want to go with a body lotion of their favorite scent instead of the perfume version.(perfume cologne samples)

So what if you had to play detective in order to go about buying perfume for that special woman in your life. (perfume cologne samples) She will get a lot of pleasure out of the fact that you cared enough to get a gift. (perfume cologne samples) It may not even matter if you messed up and picked the wrong scent. If you feel that you got it wrong, then you can always take it back and exchange it for something more appropriate.(perfume cologne samples)

Perfume For That Special Someone As A Gift (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

There are plenty of reasons to buy perfumes and colognes. You do not need a reason to treat yourself to one of your favorite designer fragrances. But there are times when you want to give the gift of perfume to someone else. So what do you do? (perfume cologne samples)

Buying perfume for someone else can be a minefield of problems if you do not pay attention to some subtle things about the person (perfume cologne samples) . It is a unique blend of personality and mentality that comes together to make up a person's essence. The goal is to capture their essence in the perfume bottle.(perfume cologne samples)

Buying perfume for someone else begins with observation of what they typically wear. This includes clothing, make-up and their regular perfume and cologne. She may be a body lotion type of person, so you have to keep that in mind, as well as what types of clothing and fragrances are worn during the day, versus at night. (perfume cologne samples)

Choosing The Perfect Perfume Gifts Part 2 (perfume cologne samples)

Different Types of Perfume Gifts (perfume cologne samples)

There is different type of perfume gifts that many people do not know. Among these we have true perfume, Eau de Toilette and Eau de Cologne. (perfume cologne samples) True perfume usually comes in small and artistically designed bottles that represent the spirit of the designer. (perfume cologne samples) True perfume is usually very costly because of the ingredients that are used and should make great presents if you have the budget.(perfume cologne samples)

Eau de Toilette is usually made of eight to fifteen percent essential oil while Eau de Cologne is made of around four percent essential oil. (perfume cologne samples) Because of the fact that the fragrances are not that potent they can cost a fraction of the cost of true perfume and are also available in larger bottles. (perfume cologne samples)
Eau de Toilette and Eau de Cologne should make great presents for people that want to give a perfume to a person but do not have the financial means to do it. (perfume cologne samples)

Perfume gifts can be exciting and fun to give if only you take time to find out which scent the person will appreciate. (perfume cologne samples) The time that you spend in choosing the fragrance could make the difference between being readily accepted and disappointing gifts. Do not rush in choosing these gifts. (perfume cologne samples)

Choosing The Perfect Perfume Gifts (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

When choosing to give perfume gifts there are various factors that need to be considered. A lot of time needs to be devoted to the fact of choosing the best presents that will surely suit your friends and relatives. (perfume cologne samples) Many bottles of perfume have ended up on a dresser without having been used more than once. This is why it is of paramount importance to carefully choose the best one among the various products that are available.

Which one to give? (perfume cologne samples)

The obvious thing to consider when choosing perfume gifts is to make sure that the person wears perfume. A lot of people have allergies, sensitivities or even skin disease that prevents them from using some fragrances or perfumes in general. (perfume cologne samples) In these cases it will be wise to give gift consisting of perfumed sachets or room sprays that the person could use as decorative items.

If the person does wear perfumes then it will be interesting to find out which scent they really like and are able to use. (perfume cologne samples) Usually people make the error of giving perfume gifts that they have smelled on somebody else. The truth is that each one of us has their own body chemistry and it will be necessary to take time to find out the scent that the people usually wear. In this way you are sure that your gift will be accepted.

Six Ways to Save On Fragrance Now (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)

If you are one of those perfume lovers who adores fragrance but has limited (as in finite) financial means, you will often be faced with problems at the perfume counter. Unless you're a one-fragrance woman, it can be hard to narrow down your fragrance needs to one or two scents a year. You may not have to. Here are some ways to build your collection without breaking your budget.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples): First, learn about decanting. Decanting is the process of taking perfume (or cologne or eau de parfum) out of one large bottle and putting it into several smaller bottles. Most perfume-crazy people become decanters because it is about the best way to expand your collection economically. You'll need small glass bottles, an eye dropper, and a glass funnel. (Only use glass tools.) You should probably wear a mask as you decant, since the fumes can be strong. You get together with some perfume buddies, divvy up the cost of a bottle of scent, and then decant it into equal portions.(perfume cologne samples).

(perfume cologne samples): Second, buy samples. There is a fabulous new perfumer in Boston called Neil Morris who sells samples of his fragrances (http://www.neilmorris.com). Many other smaller houses will do the same. Some online perfume websites also sell smaller bottles of scent for reasonable prices. This is a bit of a hunt, since not all perfumers do this.

(perfume cologne samples): Third, beg samples. You need to shop for perfume faithfully at certain locations, be they websites or perfume counters. If you get well known as a frequent buyer or can strike up a rapport with a perfume salesperson, you may be able to get some samples. I'm not talking about those little pieces of paper that they spritz with scent. I mean little bottles of a new or older fragrance that you can try. Only the very lucky get samples without being established customers. But established customers should get some samples from time to time.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples): Fourth, look for smaller sizes or unusual packaging. Sometimes you can try a great new scent in a small purse-sized roll-on or a perfume solid. This is a great way to test drive a new scent or to add to your collection without having to spring for the giant bottle. One of the best perfume deals going is Bond No. 9's sampler box (called the Bon Bon Box), but it costs $240. This buys you 18 fairly large refillable bottles of eau de parfum.

(perfume cologne samples): Fifth, spritz at the counter. This is not my favorite way of trying new scents (since I generally leave the perfume counter having sprayed on five or six scents which I tend to mix up) but it can work if you're disciplined. Again, it helps if you are an established customer. Go with no scent. Try a specific scent on and wear it that day. Don't buy it that day, even if you love it. (Buy something else, if you have to.) Your job is to sample it. Quite truthfully, sometimes a sample spritz in one day will tell you all you need to know about a fragrance.

(perfume cologne samples): Sixth, tell everyone you love perfume and don't hesitate to be specific. I'm not saying to fish for gifts. But haven't we all thought long and hard to find the perfect gift for some occasion? Women can be tough to buy for and along the way in life, you are going to be given some gifts. Whether they're thank-you gifts, birthday presents, or just little tokens along the way, perfume is a great thing to give and get. If you're a known perfume lover, some people may be intimidated to buy perfume for you. That's why you should be very clear in your hint dropping. Mention how you love Chanel No. 5 but have never owned it or say that you just love the scents from Kenzo but haven't bought them. Okay, this suggestion is not for everyone, but I've often been grateful when people have hinted at gifts they'd like.(perfume cologne samples)

Perfume is not cheap but perfumistas generally find a way to get the perfumes they love.

(perfume cologne samples): One last hint: don't buy knockoffs. Here is why I say that. Let's say you love old Frank Sinatra music. And let's say you had a chance to get some of his recordings from the 1950s. But let's also say that there was a Rich Little type of guy working in Vegas who could imitate Frank Sinatra and he had made a record of some old 1950s Sinatra songs. Would you rather have the original recordings or the imitation version? (perfume cologne samples)

Now what if I were to tell you that this imitator was so good, it was truly hard to tell the recording apart. Let's even go so far as to say that it fooled a few people in an independent test.

(perfume cologne samples): Do you want the originals or the imitations? Most music lovers would take the originals, even if they were not as good in quality! Why? Because there is something emotional about music and about the whole Frank Sinatra mystique that makes the original have a sort of "value" that is hard to quantify.

That's how I feel about real perfume. Knockoffs may be good (they often aren't). But at the end of the day, I'd rather have the real stuff. It's hard to explain why. I like to think I'd know the difference, but even if I could not pinpoint it, I can feel the difference. Perfume is like music for the nose! (perfume cologne samples)

An Inside to Perfume (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples): “perfume” derives from the Latin words per and fumus - meaning “through smoke”. The Egyptians were the first to incorporate perfume into their culture followed by the ancient Chinese and Hindus, the use of perfume then spread to Greece, Rome, and the Islamic world. (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples): Introduction The word “perfume” derives from the Latin words per and fumus - meaning “through smoke”, which refers to man’s early ritual of releasing pleasing or masking odours into the air by burning or heating fragrant materials. Throughout the years we have evolved from releasing the fragrances into the air, to wearing them on our person in various forms.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) Scents Fragrances are classified according to the concentration of scent within the fragrance. Those fragrances with a higher concentration of scent (essential oils) have a higher intensity/longevity, which explains the dramatic differences in price between an eau de cologne and Perfume extract. Perfume extract: 20-40% essential oils. Eau de parfum (EDP): 10-30% essential oils. Eau de toilette (EDT): 5-20% essential oils. Eau de cologne (EDC): 2-5% essential oils.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples)Fragrances are often classified as belong to a particular “family”. The following is a breakdown of traditional perfume family classifications, followed by some newer ones which have emerged in more recent years: Amber: A vanilla basis with floral & wood scents. Chypre: Fragrances containing undertones of patchouli, bergamot, oakmoss etcetera. Single Floral: These fragrances are dominated by the scent of one particular flower. Floral Bouquet: Scents containing combinations of two or more flowers. Fougère: Scents with an underlying base of lavender, oakmoss and coumarin, providing a “herbaceous” woody fragrance(perfume cologne samples) . Leather: These fragrances have the underlying scents of wood, tobacco and honey, suggestive of real “leather”. Woody: These fragrances feature the scents of sandalwood, cedar, patchouli. Citrus: A predominantly citrus-based scent. Bright Floral: Combination of Single Floral and Floral Bouquet. Green: A less heavy version of Chypre scents. Gourmand: A scent which resembles particular food flavours including vanilla bean, strawberry. Oceanic/Ozone: A freshlight, clean scent, used in many scents available for him/her.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) Along with the above scents, each perfume also contains three individual notes, which are detailed in the order in which they are appreciated: Top (or Head) Notes: The initial impression given by a fragrance immediately after application. This evaporates after a few minutes and is no longer noticeable. Middle (Heart) Notes: The second-stage scent which appears once the head notes fade, and the fragrance blends with the body’s own chemistry (and the reason why perfumes smell different on different people). This takes between 10-20 minutes to develop and lasts for several hours (perfume cologne samples). Base Notes: The remaining, lingering scent which remains once the perfume has dried, after the middle notes also fade. This is the lasting, staying power of the fragrance.(perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples) Conclusion When buying a perfume, it is important to consider what occasion it is to be worn for, and choose from an appropriate “family”. Some of the lighter citrus or oceanic scents are perfect for summer days, whilst a heavier floral bouquet is more fitting for a winter’s evening. Most importantlyArticle Submission, when testing a new fragrance prior to purchase you must take into consideration the three notes outlined above before placing your order with Perfumessentials.com.(perfume cologne samples)

Perfume And Cologne - Appreciating The Differences (perfume cologne samples)

(perfume cologne samples): While the art of perfumery began with the religious ceremonies of the ancient Egyptians, who from as early as 3000 B.C, used a mix of fragrant plants to scent animal and vegetable oils as ceremonial ointments, perfume as we know it today first became popular in early16th century Paris, after the Crusaders returned from the Middle East bearing the secrets of its creation to Europe.(perfume cologne samples)

The First Cologne (perfume cologne samples)

It was not until nearly three centuries later, however that Eau de Cologne first appeared,. The original Cologne is said to have been produced in Koln, Germany, in 1792; legend has it that the “recipe” for the first cologne was created by a Carthusian monk in hiding there who gave it to Wilhelm Mulhense as a wedding gift, calling it “Miracle Water” because of its healing properties (perfume cologne samples).

Wilhelm began producing and selling the “Miracle Water,” which was an instant hit among his male friends, and began calling it Cologne, the French name for the city of Koln (perfume cologne samples) . His Cologne was called “4711” after the street address of his shop, and is said to have had a refreshing citrus base (perfume cologne samples). 4711 is still produced today, although the Mulhense family sold their cologne production facility to Wella in 1994.(perfume cologne samples)

The Differences (perfume cologne samples)

The basic difference between perfume and cologne is in their strength. While both perfume and cologne are made denatured ethyl alcohol and essential oils (perfume cologne samples) , perfume and eau de parfum contain between fifteen and twenty-two percent essential oils; eau de cologne contains only between four percent essential oils.

The major differences between perfume and cologne (perfume cologne samples), therefore, are that perfume’s fragrance is stronger, and will remain fresh longer, so that it should be applied much more sparingly than cologne, which can be splashed on. And the greater the amount of the essential oils in perfume and cologne, the more expensive they will be.(perfume cologne samples)

Storing Perfume And Cologne (perfume cologne samples)

Because both perfume and cologne have such high alcohol contents, they should be stored out in a cool dark place to prevent them from evaporating or undergoing a change of color. Although consumers very often keep their perfume and cologne in their bathrooms, the heat from showers and baths will not be good for them; as long as they are kept away from the light, a bedroom is a much better choice. But the best place, if not the most convenient, to store perfume and cologne to maximize their lives is in the refrigerator. (perfume cologne samples)

Perfume and cologne are one of life’s little pleasures, and knowing how to care for them so that they will perform as intended from the first drops in their bottles to the last is one of life’s little arts! (perfume cologne samples)
